Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of Iowa (HTCC) COVID-19 Relief Drive

Please join us to help members of our community that have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19. HTCC Board and its patron members have pledged up to $5000 in matching funds with the goal of collecting $15000. HTCC is a place of worship for Hindus living in Central Iowa. Located on the banks of Des Moines River, 4 miles South of Madrid Township on IA-17, HTCC offers a peaceful and serene environment for Meditation and Prayers. Hinduism advocates extreme compassion for not only human beings but also for all life forms. This optimism and compassion for one another, is the bedrock of Hinduism. Two popular Sanskrit adages apt for this scenario are: "Sarve Jana Sukino Bhavanthu" and "Dharmo Rakshita Rakshitah" It means "Let all Humans be happy & healthy" and "When you protect the Dharma (righteousness), it protects you in turn".

Food Bank of Iowa - COVID-19 Relief

About This Campaign

Even as the economy begins to slowly reopen, we know the effects of COVID-19 will be felt long into the future and our neighbors will continue to need our help.

Before the COVID-19 crisis, Food Bank of Iowa distributed over 5,000 BackPack sacks each week and supplied over 100 school pantries with food to feed families in need. Many congregate meal sites have shuttered leaving seniors on fixed incomes without consistent access to food. And families will continue to have to make hard decisions as they try and get back on their feet.

Food Bank of Iowa will continue working hard to safely get food to our friends and neighbors in need. Unfortunately, we know the need for our services will continue to grow as Iowans get back to work, and there is a long road ahead.

We are grateful for your donations. Your support ensures Food Bank of Iowa can continue providing quality, nutritious food to Iowans in need – especially during these challenging times.

Thank you for continuing to help us help others.
