A Virtual Food Drive is a web-based tool allowing individuals and organizations to host a food drive through Food Bank of Iowa’s website. Donations can be made securely online giving everyone on your team a chance to see the progress in real time. With just a few clicks, anyone can purchase the most-needed items and make a difference in the lives of neighbors in need.
The answer is simple – to get more food to those facing hunger in our community faster. By holding your food drive online, you will save the Food Bank the time and resources incurred through a physical food drive. Plus, your donations will help us purchase more of our most-needed food items in bulk including highly desirable perishable items such as milk and eggs. You give us the resources to purchase the most needed items in the moment as the need arises!
Virtual Food Drives give donors the opportunity to support important programming like School Pantries and the BackPack Program.
We have an excellent opportunity to work together virtually and support our communities. We are the 40th class of Leadership Iowa! We are asking for $4,000 to commemorate 40 years of this incredible program. The money raised during this campaign will stay in Iowa and within the 55 counties that the Food Bank of Iowa services. The Food Bank of Iowa has 677 partner agencies that include food pantries, community meal sites, shelters, schools, and other organizations. The Food Bank also has a mobile pantry program that offers a farmers market distribution in communities that do not have access to this kind of food resource. They also do a school pantry program, back pack program, and a summer food program that services kids in need on a regular basis. Distribution of more than 1.5M pounds of food isn't easy. The cost of labor, storage, sorting, and transportation for even donated items can be extremely high so every little bit helps. Lets show the Food Bank why the 40th class of Leadership Iowa is the best class ever!

The Month of November is known as the month of Thankfulness. I am very thankful and blessed with amazing friends and family. I love to give back to the Community in which I am part of. In honor my birthday, my wish is that you all take a minute to remember how fortunate you are. Many are struggling. Many spend sleepless nights worrying about food insecurity. I want to make an impact. Please Give because of the blessings in your life. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. If you prefer to donate non perishable food items I will be collecting those as well.
